Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Pierry Benjamin has always taken interest in community driven initiatives. As a teenager, he was a highly active member in “Teen Club”, a youth program that has been a part of his parish (Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ) for over 40 years. While there, he was able engage in community programs, build within his parish and establish lifelong relationships with community members.

Despite a hard childhood, financial difficulty and many challenged circumstances, Pierry obtained an Associate Degree from Briarcliffe College with a major in Networking & Computer Technology. Pierry then continued his undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor Degree from SUNY College at Old Westbury with a major in Media & Communications. While completing his undergraduate studies, Pierry decided to give back to his community through the same youth group that cultivated him as an adolescent, Sacred Heart Teen Club.

As a Teen Club leader, Pierry realized how valuable intervention is to adolescents in urban communities.  In 2011, Pierry founded The BIG Live (Being Involved Greatly, Living in Various Environments/TBL). TBL serves as a vendor for New York City Department of Education and provides mentorship, motivational seminars, public speaking and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) as service. TBL’s aim is to motivate inner city youths towards professional and personal achievement by raising their social status and improving their quality of life.
